Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Bundle Chat AI.

What is Bundle Chat AI?

Bundle Chat AI is a Chrome browser extension that allows you to use AI models (via OpenRouter.ai) to interact with the content of any webpage you visit. You can analyze selected text, visible page content, the page's HTML structure, or even images directly within a convenient sidebar chat interface.

What is OpenRouter.ai?

OpenRouter.ai is a service that provides a single API endpoint to access a wide variety of Large Language Models (LLMs) from different providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, and more. Bundle Chat AI uses OpenRouter as its backend for all AI processing, allowing you to choose from many different models.

Do I need to pay separately for OpenRouter API usage?

Not necessarily. The one-time payment for Bundle Chat AI covers the extension itself. Your usage of AI models through the OpenRouter API depends on the specific models you choose. Some models on OpenRouter are free to use, while others are billed separately by OpenRouter based on their pricing and the amount of data processed (tokens).

Which AI models can I use with Bundle Chat AI?

Bundle Chat AI supports any text-based or vision-capable model available through the OpenRouter API that is compatible with the standard chat completions format. You can see a list of available models on OpenRouter's models page and select your preferred models in the Bundle Chat AI extension settings.

How do I get an OpenRouter API key?

Please follow our Setup Guide, which provides step-by-step instructions on how to register on OpenRouter.ai and generate your API key.

Does Bundle Chat AI work on browsers other than Chrome (e.g., Firefox, Safari)?

Currently, Bundle Chat AI is designed and available exclusively as a Chrome Extension. It may also work on other Chromium-based browsers that support Chrome extensions (like Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera), but official support is for Google Chrome.

Is my data (API key, chats, browsing content) safe?

We take your privacy and security seriously:

  • API Key Storage: Your OpenRouter API key is stored locally in your browser's secure storage (`chrome.storage.local`) and is never transmitted to Bundle Chat AI servers or any third party other than OpenRouter.ai for API calls.
  • Chat History: If you enable chat saving, your chat history is also stored locally in your browser. It is not sent to our servers.
  • Content Processing: When you analyze page content or images, that data is sent directly from your browser to the OpenRouter API (and subsequently to the chosen AI model provider). Bundle Chat AI acts as an interface and does not intermediate or store this content on its own servers.
  • For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.
Can I get a refund?

All purchases are final and non-refundable.

We do not offer refunds once a license has been purchased and activated. This policy is in place because our product provides immediate access to digital services, the usage of which cannot be revoked.

Not sure if Bundle Chat is right for you?

We want you to be confident in your purchase. If you have any questions or would like to try the product before buying, please contact our support team to request a one-day trial access pass. We are happy to help you evaluate if Bundle Chat fits your needs.

The sidebar closed by itself when I navigated to another page. Is this a bug?

This is expected behavior, not a bug. Bundle Chat is designed to work with the context of a single page. To ensure that the chat context always matches the content you see, the sidebar automatically closes when you navigate to a new URL, including on Single-Page Applications (like Gmail, Figma, or modern news sites).

Simply open the sidebar again from the popup or context menu to start a new chat session for the new page content.

How do I ask questions about an image on a page?

Asking about images is a two-step process:

1. First, right-click on the desired image on the webpage and select "Bundle Chat: Ask about this image" from the context menu. This action opens the sidebar and loads the image as the initial context.

2. Alternatively, if the sidebar is already open, you can right-click an image on the page and then click the "Image" button in the "Attach Context" section of the sidebar.

Important: The extension needs you to right-click the image on the page first to know which image you want to analyze.

How does the extension choose which model to use?

Bundle Chat simplifies model selection for you.

When you work with text (visible text, HTML, or selected text), the extension will use your chosen Default Text Model.

When you attach an image, the extension will automatically switch to your chosen Default Vision Model.

You can always override this choice by manually selecting a different model from the "Model" dropdown list inside the chat sidebar before sending your message. You can set your preferred default models in the extension's popup settings.

How can I contact support if I have issues or questions?

You can reach our support team by emailing support@bundlechat.ai or by visiting our Contact page.

Why a one-time payment and not a subscription?

We believe in providing a straightforward and affordable way to access this powerful browser utility. The one-time payment gives you lifetime access to the Bundle Chat AI extension's features. Since you manage your own OpenRouter API key and billing, you only pay for the AI usage you actually consume, offering greater flexibility and cost control without recurring subscription fees from us.

Are there any limitations when using OpenRouter and AI models?

Yes — a few things to keep in mind:

  • Platform limits: OpenRouter may set some general limits, like how many requests you can send per minute or per day, depending on your account. You can find the latest info in their documentation.
  • Model-specific limitations: Each AI model is a bit different. For example:
    • Some models can handle very large pages or documents, while others work best with shorter text.
    • Each model has a limit on how much content it can "see" at once — this is called a context window. If you send a very long webpage or complex HTML, part of it may be cut off.
    • Some models are better at answering questions, some at summarizing pages, and some at extracting key facts — you may want to experiment to find which works best for your needs.
    • Not all models can handle every type of input (for example: code, images, raw HTML).
  • Model availability: OpenRouter offers both free and paid models, and the available options may change over time as new models are added or older ones are retired.

We recommend checking the OpenRouter model list to choose a model that matches what you want to do — and to read their documentation to understand any limits.
